Fly Tying Night with Fishing For All

In this 2-hour introductory class, we’ll walk you through the fundamentals of fly tying in a relaxed, hands-on setting. This class is designed for complete beginners, anglers who need a refresher, or anyone interested in learning a new fly pattern. No previous fly-tying or fly-fishing experience is required.

You’ll learn how to:
-Identify and safely use essential fly-tying tools
-Secure a hook properly in a fly-tying vise
-Start, control, and finish tying thread
-Select and attach common fly-tying materials
-Follow a fly pattern step by step
-Understand basic fly proportions and material placement
-Use finishing techniques to create a durable, fishable fly
-Tie San Juan worms, Woolly Buggers, and Hares Ear Nymph

Your instructor will demonstrate each step of the tying process before you try it at your own vise. You’ll receive hands-on guidance throughout the class and have time to practice each technique as you build your fly.

By the end of the class, you’ll understand the basic fly-tying process and feel comfortable tying on your own. You’ll also take your finished flies home with you.

All fly-tying equipment and materials are provided. This class is limited to 12 participants. All ages are welcome, but participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
