PACKAGING MANAGER

We're looking for a Packaging Manager who will direct all aspects of packaging wholesale and to-go beer, seltzer, and non-alcoholic beverages. Position requires packaging inventory management, management of packaging assistants and all canning equipment, and regular communication with the Distribution Manager, Head Brewer, and Assistant Brewer.

  • Work with the Distribution Manager to manage inventory of cans/lids/labels
    • Help choose and implement an inventory management system
    • Keep the warehouse clean and organized
  • Fulfill distribution orders each week and manage to-go can inventory for the taproom, including labeling/dating/filling/sealing/boxing cans
    • Organize canned products to fit in the given amount of cooler space
    • Ensure adequate supply of all brands for taproom to-go sales
    • Coordinate with the production team and Administrative Assistant to launch new/returning brands
  • Maintain an adequate stock of ingredients for hard seltzer flavorings
  • Managing hard seltzer flavoring syrup levels daily, ensuring enough mix of each variety for packaging and taproom needs
  • Cleaning and maintenance of all canning equipment
    • Quality assurance through seam measurement and disassembly of 16oz and Crowler cans on a regular basis
    • Research and propose purchasing additional equipment as needed
  • Manage a team of three part-time canning assistants
    • Regularly communicate filling priority and daily tasks with the packaging team
    • Adjust packaging team schedules based on canning needs and sales forecasts
  • Coordinate with the event team and to ensure proper stock levels for onsite and offsite events.
  • Create and keep up to date relevant SOPs for canning, cleaning, and maintaining equipment
  • Monitor the packaging team to ensure quality and efficiency

 

Occasional Duties

 

  • Keg/can delivery and various errands relating to the brewery when needed
  • Represent the company at some liquor store samplings and beer festivals
  • Operate the forklift as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
  • 21+ years old
  • 2+ years experience packaging at a production brewery
  • High School diploma with some college or associate degree
  • Driver’s license with no major driving infractions
  • Enthusiasm for the craft beer industry
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed
  • Basic computer, web, and smartphone competency for work correspondence
  • Excellent communication and professionalism
  • Ability to safely lift up to 55 lbs and safely maneuver 160 lb kegs
  • Efficiency in completing single or multiple tasks on your own
  • High attention to detail
  • Able to work in a range of temperatures and conditions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some college or associate degree
  • Forklift certified
  • Management experience
  • Working knowledge of Twin Monkeys Mancos canning line

This position is salaried at $45,000 per year.
