Macro – Pilsner

First Released: May 16, 2018

Background

Macro breweries (you know the ones, all owned by one conglomerate) control nearly 90% of the beer market in the US. The primary swill beer style they produce is known as American Adjunct Lager, which is a bastardization of the noble German Pilsner. I don’t know about you, but I like a good crisp Pils as much as the next guy in lederhosen.

Macro is our middle finger to both corporate beer and the beer geeks who scoff at anything that doesn’t look like orange juice in a beer glass. But don’t put it up on a pedestal. Just put it in a glass and enjoy. Or hell, just drink it straight from a can. Prost!

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Clean noble hops. Light aroma overall.

Flavor: Clean and balanced at first, transitions into moderate bitterness with a grassy almost citruslike flavor. Has a roundedness to it.

Mouthfeel: Medium with a bit of dryness.

Aftertaste: Lingering lager funk that turns to light sweet malt.
